About Laura Bever
Ms. Bever was appointed Gratiot County Prosecuting Attorney in April 2023, after long serving Prosecutor Keith Kushion retired during his last 4 year term. Ms. Bever was serving as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney when she was appointed by 29th Circuit Court Judges Cori Barkman and Shannon Schlegel to complete the term.
She received her Juris Doctorate with honors from Wayne State University Law School and her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan. Bever began her career in Detroit at the Dykema Law Firm before returning to Alma to practice law. She acquired Stewart McDonald's law practice when he became District Court Judge. She subsequently served as the Attorney Referee for the 29th Circuit Court Family Division. Ms. Bever graduated from the Alma High School, is married and has 3 adult children.
